Hotel Michelangelo

We stayed at the hotel immediately on arrival in Bucharest and the day before flying home. This is a proper hotel with a manned reception, even though we arrived quite late. There is a bar so we could have a relaxing drink on site. We didn’t book breakfast in advance but bought off menu on all the mornings of our stay. Our first room was very nice; comfortable bed; good shower; clean and quiet. The room on our second stay was quite palatial with armchairs and some original features. Staff were friendly and competent., helping with bags when necessary. The hotel is located close to bus routes, including the airport bus. The walk into town is not far if you are reasonably ambient. Otherwise use Bolt or Uber for the short journey.

Positioned in a residential neighborhood and away from noise and traffic, the hotel has friendly multi-lingual staff and is very clean. The a-la-cart breakfast was varied and good and the bar was well stocked. The central heating worked very well in the winter.

Huge spacious room, with atmospheric decoration and outdoor area seating area. The location was excellent. Walking distance to Piata Romana a roundabout and good pickup point for sightseeing, Calea Victoriei / the main shopping street crammed with cafes etc., and to the old town. Easy access to buy a good cup of black tea at hotel reception, much appreciated since there were much herbal and fruit teas otherwise.

This was a nice hotel in a great location (central but quiet). The staff were very friendly and the decor was cozy and unique. The only issues were that the room was very hot (even at the beginning of April). I had to open both windows yet it was still hot and sticky at night. Also, the bathroom was rather old fashioned. Other than those two things, everything was really great and I enjoyed my stay.
